Trump's Executive Orders Are Excessive; Many will be Challenged in Court (American Issues Take One - recorded on 1/22/2025). The hosts for this show were Tim Apicella and Jay Fidell. The guest was Benjamin Davis.
The discussion was: Over 200 Executive Orders have been signed By Trump on the first day of his second term.
A wide range of orders pertain to what we were warned was coming: Some 1600 Jan6 convicted individuals had their sentences commuted, to include the leaders of white supremacist groups, Proud Boys and Oath Keepers. This includes convicted prisoners that beat and sprayed Capital Police senseless with clubs, flag poles and bear mace. Boarder Control measures include elimination of most asylum status and orders applicants to wait in Mexico for court dates for asylum approval. The most glaring change pertains to the denial of citizenship of certain individuals born on US soil ( potentially a violation of the 14th Amendment) Many of Trump's Executive Orders will most likely be challenged in court. The panel will discuss some of the orders that will have large and immediate impact on the nation.
The takeaway was: Many of the 200 Executive Orders Trump signed will roll back many freedoms American have enjoyed for decades if not since the inception of the nation.
