The discussion was: Ken Rogers, retired Canadian businessman, helps us understand the degrading state of affairs between the US and Canada. Trump has continued to (a) press for Canada to be the 51st State, (b) imposition of tariffs on Canadian goods. He's also made statements about Canada that are not true, like (a) the US doesn't need Canada's oil, gas, autos or lumber, (b) Canadians would have better healthcare if Canada became a state.(c) Canada was 'very nasty' to the US on trade, and (d) the US is 'subsidizing' Canada by the trade deficit. Trudeau is still in office and is trying to organize a Canadian countermeasures response to Trump, including its own trade war and a 'Buy Canadian' campaign.

The takeaway was: Canada is our closest neighbor and an important trading partner. It's welfare is important to us. There's a lot going on involving Canada these days, and we need to follow what is going on there.
