The discussion was: Terrell Erickson has spent a lifetime preserving various environments, including, most recently writing a book about the Wetlands of Hawai’i. Working in places like Guam, Palau, Saipan, and America Samoa, Ms. Erickson will display her wealth of information about what is going on with our wetlands, not only in Hawai’i, but across the Pacific, and also on the Continent as her resume includes environmental and oversight work in Washington, D.C. and New England (where she was a Regional Conservationist). Her book, Hawaii Wetland Field Guide, won the 2007 Best Natural Sciences Book Award.
The takeaway was: All watching this Journeys of the Mind (Think Tech Hawaii) will become that much more knowledgeable about environmental issues facing Hawai’i and the world. Perhaps, most significantly, using Terrell Erickson as our guide, we will learn what questions we should be asking about our collective environments, and what can be done to preserve our more than beautiful habitats, especially in Hawai’i.
